We all have so many things that grab us moment to moment, and often it is hard to decide what needs our attention first. Yesterday as I was thinking of this post what came to mind was not only what has our attention, but what are we talking about?
When you are with your friends, or your family, are you having conversation about things that are more reflective, as the year comes to a close, or are you still in the holiday mindset? Some of you may be planning a trip at the beginning of the year for a little rest and relaxation. Whatever has your attention this day I hope that it is good, and that it is bringing you and others joy.
I know that one of my sisters is relishing the company of her daughter who is visiting from the west coast, another friend is enjoying her children who are on break from school, many of you are thinking of packing those Christmas decorations away for another year, and then someone I know is helping a friend through a very difficult time.
This day is ours but for a short time, but we have an opportunity to make a powerful impact on the lives of those around us. Let this be a day that we speak love, with words of hope and encouragement, to those that need to hear our voice.
Philippians 4:8 NKJV Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
