Why is it so hard?

Hard to do what? Hard to do what you know God has given you the grace to do, but you still find it difficult to actually do. The Scripture that immediately comes to mind is Romans 8:31 “What then are we to say about these things?" If God is for us, who is against us?” The answer may be that we stand aganist our own callings!

Paul says in Romans, that we do what we do not want to do. I recommend you read it and see for yourself. Romans is not an easy book, but it is so critical to understand who we are, and often why we do what we do.

God has created each of us uniquely, divinely made in His image, and with callings that were hand picked for us. But, in the event that what we were called to do, we do not do during our lifetime, God will give those talents to someone else. God will accomplish on this earth through willing, and obedient vessels, what He desires.

Billy Graham is a great example. If Billy Graham did not pick up the mantle that God made available for him, He would have given it to someone else, but thankfully Billy Graham was obedient to God’s calling. I am personally grateful. I got saved at a Billy Graham Crusade in Albany, NY in July of 1990.

The question for many of us still remains the same. Why is it so hard? I believe that sometimes we get distracted with things that are just more appealing to us, perhaps easier, maybe even more enjoyable. Perhaps they even offer us a platform which we like. Whatever the reason the question must be answered. If we are called by God, then it really isn’t an option, it is an act of disobedience when we don’t do what has been given to us, regardless of how hard it happens to be.

When something is hard, not doing it is not going to make it easier. It will continue to linger in the wings, often staring us in the face, getting harder to imagine it ever being done. The more we look at it the harder it gets, so in the end what can be done?

We need to just do that thing, whatever that thing is, and know that the rewards will be far greater than any difficulty we encounter. Furthermore, remembering that God gives us His grace and an anointing to accomplish what He has called us to do. God sees the victory before we have even begun, so if God be for us, should we allow anyone, or anything to stand against us? No, we should not!

Genesis 12:1-2 The Lord said to Abram; Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Has religion left you feeling flat?

Are you hesitant to obey someone whose character is not clear?
