Are you friend or foe?

Joshua asked this question when an angel in the army of the Lord appeared to him. Essentially, he was asking are you friend or foe, with us or against us? Have you come to help us, or hinder us?

This is a question that once answered will draw the line in the sand. When you know if someone is for you then you know that you can depend on their support. On the flip side, when you know that someone does not stand with you, then you know you will likely experience resistance.

Now imagine that you are being asked if you are friend or foe? As a Christian it means that you will to be answering from a place where non-believers are not held accountable. These people may not even have a moral compass that is guiding them through what is right and wrong. Their decisions may be based on what looks good in their own eyes. This should be foreign to you, as a believer, as you will be judged differently.

Are you on the side of righteousness? Is you position defined by the way you speak, and your actions? Actions do scream loudly, they can’t be denied, so will they scream for good?

We are called to always be positioned where there will be no denying who we are, remembering that you can’t be a friend to God and Satan. You will love God and hate the other, be in agreement with God and not conform to the other, stand by God’s Word and detest the lies of the other.

Do you have the courage to declare that you are for God? It may make you a foe to many, and they may come to persecute you. Are you still willing to speak the truth of your identity?

These are defining days and we must not allow a spirit of timidity cause us to be misrepresented. We are righteous by the Blood of Jesus and we must not be ashamed to make it known! We may be hated, but we will never be hated by God. God will always love us, and give us the strength we need to fight any battle.

Joshua 5:13 Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?”
