Are we working against our calling?

All of our days have been written in the Lamb’s book of life before we lived even one of them here on earth. This is an awesome truth! God saw us in our mothers womb before we were even formed. In fact, He wrote about us before He created the world, and not just us, but everyone who would ever live. Now that is intense! For this every reason, we should never underestimate the ability or love of God.

I am someone who does not want to miss one single thing that God has set aside for me. I want it all! Each morning I wake up I say yes to wherever God needs me to be. I am never disappointed, and never do I try to make things happen. I am simply obedient, alert, and ready!

The other day I asked a group of women what I thought was a very good question. Are you singing someone else’s song? What do you think? Is it complicated or easy to understand what I am asking?

Essentially, what I am asking has to do with your calling, your destiny, and your life. Are you focused on doing what God has called you to do, or are you too focused on watching another person. I may even ask are you more excited about what others are doing, and less about what God has for you?

This happens to us all at times in our lives. We get off target with what we were created to do, something that God purposed to be uniquely our own, and we end up watching someone else too closely. This often leads to comparison, and comparison is never good.

Comparison can take us down a path where we can end up feeling insecure, worthless, and disappointed. But, I have learned something very valuable in my life. When we stay in our lane, seeking what God has put in us, using our gifts and talents to serve Him, we will fulfill all that was written about, and for us. We will have the zeal to push through, and hold the line even when days are difficult, and we will never willingly walk away from our calling to be someone else.

Romans 8:27 TPT God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.

Are we asking the right questions?
