Do you have a warrior's mouth?

A warrior speaks out of a heart that has been changed. Therefore, the words that come from our mouths should reflect this transformation. The warrior’s mouth is directly connected to a message that must be delivered. It is a message of love, power, reconciliation, joy, and unity. Our words have purpose and eternal ramifications. Holy Spirit inspires them, and this message we speak forth is as much for our journey, as it is to others.

We have heard it said that we are what we eat, and for me that is easy to translate. What I eat will either contribute to good health, or it will not! What I eat will either increase my well being, my body functioning at its optimum, thereby impacting my longevity, or it will not! What I eat will also play into my emotional state, as it brings the right nutrients, causing my brain to function uninhibited by chemicals and toxins. As with everything we have a choice, and no one can force us to do anything we don’t want to do.

We know that out of the mouth the heart speaks, so literally it is your heart, and mine, that is speaking when we open our mouth. Just like our physical bodies exude what we feed them, so out of our hearts will come forth what we have fed them! In the amplified Bible it says that words reveal character.

Matthew 12:33-37 Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is recognized and judged by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man, from his (inner) good treasure, brings good things; and the evil man, from his (inner) evil treasure, brings out evil things. But I tell you; on the day of judgment people will have to give an account for every careless or useless word they speak. For by your words (reflecting your spiritual condition) you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt of sin; and by your words (rejecting Me) you will be condemned and sentenced.

This Scripture is very sobering. It is clear that there is no middle ground. Our words are either building a strong foundation, or a faulty one that will one day need to be torn down. Once torn down, it will require truth, integrity, and a sound character to establish a foundation that others can build upon. This is achievable, but it will take time.

Proverbs 25:11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken at the right time. We must never loose sight of the words that come out of our mouths. At the right time they are like silver and gold. Those that hear our words will remember what was spoken and how those words changed something for them. Therefore, we guard our tongues and speak words of life.
