I was listening to a broadcast being given by a scientist of what he hoped would become clear in regard to the composition of Mars, and upon hearing this a question was immediately on my lips. “Why not ask God since He created all the planets?”
God’s word makes it very clear that we are to inquire of Him for deeper understanding of the things that we wish to know. We have the Holy Spirit who has been sent to us as our direct link to the mysteries of God. Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit searches out the things of God in order to reveal them to us. When we make our requests known to God it is because the Holy Spirit has put within us the desire to understand more deeply a particular subject. The Holy Spirit knows what is relevant to our life, and He wants us to have knowledge of everything that we need.
A favorite Scripture of mine is Jeremiah 33:3 which says, “Ask and I will tell you great and wonderful things which you do not know.” Want to know the composition of Mars, ask God. Want to know the depth of the sea, ask God. Want to know what you are to eat and drink today, ask God. There is nothing too big or too small that He is not willing to answer. Just ask God!
Philippians 4:6 NKJV Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Matthew 7:7 CSB Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
