What has the ability to change our life?

For most of us there is little that can compare with the joy in knowing that we are hearing the voice of God. It makes us feel approved and loved that God would speak to us, and it is a demonstration of how important we are to Him. When our Creator speaks to us, the one that makes everything that seems impossible possible, the one who holds all things in perfect balance to sustain all life on earth, when He speaks it is because we matter.

Truthfully, that is why I believe that hearing God’s voice is paramount to our well being. When God is speaking it means that we are worthy to be spoken to, and when we have believed that God does not speak to us, then we have taken this as an indicator that we are unworthy. Somehow we have presumed that silence from God is actually a display of His displeasure about how we are living our life. A life that is lived out in front of Him with each breath that we take, each decision that we make, and each time we have falsely believed a lie about His very nature.

God never stops speaking, listening, and pursuing us! He is ever present in all storms to give us the encouragement to continue to battle on regardless of how hopeless things may appear.

We know that the enemy is incapable of speaking truth, and will tell us anything that will cause us to believe that God does not love us. If we know that he can speak all manner of evil into the world in an attempt to convince people that God does not care, then how much more will our Father in heaven speak to us as an assurance of His goodness. God will not be outdone by the enemy of our soul. God will override all lies that the enemy speaks with nothing but truth from His Word.

2 Peter 1:17-18 CSB For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice come to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased! We ourselves heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with Him on the holy mountain.
