According to Scripture it is the Holy Spirit who gives us the gifts that He knows will best serve God, and not only serve God, but will bring us into the fullness of our own identity. Truthfully, our spiritual gifts are displayed at there finest when we are in touch with who we are, and what we are called to do.
Every time I have the privilege to sit with a woman, or women, I am hoping to see their gifts evident at the table. It blesses me to see women who understand their personal value, and how their spiritual gifts are critical to their calling.
When we exercise our gifts, to the fullest measure, we are not the only ones benefiting. Each person that we meet will be better off having met us. I know that you may not agree, but just think about it for a minute. You may have the gift of prophesy, for instance, which means that the Holy Spirit gives you a look into a persons future, and you now can speak that future into their life. Imagine how a word of prophesy can change the direction and intent of an individuals life.
The importance lies in using our gifts for the good of others. In the process, we get immeasurably blessed. The gifts become so much a part of us, that we are transformed by them, which truly is the intent of Holy Spirit. Our personal transformation changes our life and everyone we encounter.
1Corinthians 12:7-11 “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each for the profit of all: for to one is given a word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophesy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
