I believe that this question is one that everyone has an opinion on, whether you are an American, or not. You may be looking at this from outside of the borders of the United States, but I know that you have something to say.
For those of us who are citizens, there is a movement within the United States that is focused on defining what it means to be an American. You see this playing out in the media, as well as on all social platforms. Truly, there is a conflict that has been raging for many years that has come to a deciding head. I say deciding, because we are watching to see the outcome of our recent election. This outcome has really nothing to do with either candidate, and everything to do with a nation that is coming to a pivotal point in its very existence. The battle rages for the soul of America!
I remember clearly the day the Holy Spirit told me to begin this blog, what to call it, and how it was to play out. I am to seek His understanding by mediating, and pondering each question, then relay what I believe to be true. I am to use God’s Word as the framework of everything I write. To the best of my ability, I have tried to do this diligently.
This question has been sitting in my drafts, and I realize that I am still not ready to complete it. God continues to speak to me and unfold my understanding. However, I knew when I sat at my computer tonight I was to release this portion. I know more will follow. Perhaps it is because the full picture is yet to be revealed. Either way, I am posting this in obedience to what Holy Spirit directed.
Psalm 34:1-5 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. I will boast in the Lord; the humble will hear and be glad. Proclaim the Lord’s greatness with me; let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He answered me and rescued me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed.
