How are you keeping yourself hydrated?

I know this may sound strange, but it is often easy to forget to drink. We become so busy that we can neglect to give our bodies the essential water that is needed to keep us healthy, and without noticing, we can suddenly become dangerously dehydrated.

The same is true for our spiritual life. We can get to the point where if we are not drinking deep of God’s Word we will begin to experience a deficit. We may find that we are coming up short on strength, in clarity of thought, and even of acute spiritual discernment. All of this because we have neglected to keep ourselves adequately supplied with what fortifies us.

Most of us would agree that the days in which we live have gotten exceedingly dark, especially of late. The truth is that the days have always been dark, but God has allowed the veil to be pulled back to reveal much more than we previous have seen. We can no longer deny the evil that is pervasive in our own nation. This is factual, and it requires that we be full of God’s Word to survive what is happening in our lifetime.

God’s Word promises that we shall have everything that we need for health and a godly life, but we need to intentionally drink from His life giving spring of the Holy Spirit, and we must do it daily. After all, we have been set apart to do good in the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:19 but drink deep of God’s Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and offer praise in your hearts to the Lord.
