Authority in the kingdom of God cannot be purchased by you. It has been purchased by Jesus, and He has paid the price that no man could pay. This transferrable authority from Christ was purchased by His sacrifice on the cross, and given to all who would acknowledge Him as the Son of God, and through repentance receive their eternal salvation. It is simple enough for even a child to understand. Jesus paid the ransom, then gave the gift of freedom freely to all who would receive Him.
When you are a slave you have no authority that is your own. You will be operating under a provisional false authority, limited in its ability, and held tightly by the one who has control over you. In other words, the devil makes you think you have something that you do not, and until you have acknowledged Christ, and have been bought back from the enemy, you will never have godly authority.
Now let’s get back to the question above. You know that the enemy is tenacious, insidious, and ruthless. He will patiently work at eroding your authority hoping that you will relinquish it back to him. He will interrupt, distract, and manipulate you in all areas of your life. Fortunately, you have the authority to tell him out! You do this in the powerful name of Jesus, BUT if you come out of agreement with God’s Word, His truth, His promises, and come into agreement with fear, and doubt, coming off of faith in God, then you have essentially given away your authority. It is like having the key to life, and life in abundance, and just putting it away.
Galatians 5:1 TPT At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.
