What's holding you back?

Are you still waiting for a word from the Lord when you actually need to just step into what is obvious to your calling? A loaded question I understand, but a necessary one too.

We have all been in a holding pattern at times in our walk with God, wanting to move forward, but not wanting to make the wrong move, so we make no move at all. I will confess that I have done this very thing often enough, only afterwards to realize that mine was a self imposed wait, clearly all me, and not what God was asking me to do.

God is often our reasonable excuse as to why we are still waiting, which means we have intentionally become stuck, with a premeditated decision to hold back.

Upon further reflection there are definite reasons why we do not more forward, when we certainly have the freedom to do so. We imagine that we are not fully equipped, or in possession of everything we need to be successful. Now, we come to the real reason as to why we hesitate. We are afraid of failing, looking foolish, or letting others down. The wait has kept us safely out of harms away, but also out of the game.

When we are not engaged, we are not in a position where we can impact important decisions of real value. We may be safe, but our safe mindedness has kept us from using our gifts and talents.

Galatians 5:1 At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

Have you given up the fight?

Will you be late to the table?
