Essentially, are we a people who speak that we believe God will come through for us, but then we likewise believe what the world is chasing us down with that says He will not? Have we grow accustomed to the enemy being above us, and not beneath our feet? Or, have we grown cold to truth, and have warmed up to the lies of this world? Our answers to these questions have a story to tell.
I know you and I would agree that we want to know truth, and speak truth. I believe it would pain us to consider the possibility that we are speaking truth, but then allowing the double mindedness of believing a lie to be part of who we are. If we are not able to discern truth from lies, then we are in a dangerous place.
I have heard it said that if a person hears a lie spoken, even a minimum of three times, they actually begin to believe that it is true. Now let’s consider another scenario. What if we are the ones speaking the lies. Would it be reasonable to say that we now have transitioned over from truth, if we are speaking what is counter to God’s Word? And now, what we are speaking, has become our affirmed truth because we are repeating it, and yet it is a lie? Something that is worth examining.
God’s Word tells us clearly that we are to align our lives with the absolute truth in the Bible. It is not a book that you can pick apart, believing on portions of it, but casting aside other parts that don’t line up with how you want to think.
Truth challenges us each time we open our mouths, for only truth brings light into the darkness.
John 8:31-32 TPT Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release more freedom into your lives.”
