There is a separation that happens between people when they can no longer walk in agreement. This is precisely where we find ourselves today. Whereas, once it was acceptable to be on opposing sides of an issue, with little consequence, now is clearly not that time. We can no longer avoid the hard questions that are being asked. We must make our position known to all that will listen, especially those that have been significant in our lives.
If we are to walk in truth, then we must speak truth. Essentially, it is truth that is separating us from one another. What we are witnessing is the degree with which truth has been manipulated. It is your truth that is in direct opposition to their truth.
Hard questions are being asked by those that will not allow ignorance to guide them. We will not just look the other way when someone we love is believing a lie. We must in all good conscious relay truth to this person, and hope that they will receive it.
The Bible makes it very clear. Believe a lie and be bound up, or hold fast to what is true and be set free.
We have an individual responsibility to seek truth. It is not something that can be left to someone else to sort for us. If we choose to do this, then we will suffer the consequences. Our decisions will be based on false, deceptive information that is intentionally meant to hurt us.
1 John 4:6 TPT But we belong to God, and whoever truly knows God listens to us. Those who refuse to listen to us do not belong to God. That is how we can know the difference between the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.
1 John 4:6 NKJV We are of God. He who knows God hears us, he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirt of truth and the spirit of error.
1 John 4:6 NLT We belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.
