Rejection is not necessarily selective, meaning some will experience it, while others will not. In this world, this side of heaven, rejection will be experienced by all people at some point in their life. It is just a matter of when, where, and why.
Jesus our God and Creator was rejected. He knew scorn and disdain. He walked the earth as the Son of Man, so that each pain that we have experienced was His as well. The knowledge of this may not take all the pain away, but it certainly makes more sense.
You and I belong to Jesus, we are blessed beyond measure because of this connection, but we will also be hated just as He was. Yet, those that reject us do not know why they do what they do if they don’t have the Holy Spirit to speak to them. It is for this reason that we are called to love, and not to judge. To pray for those that cause us pain asking the Holy Spirit to draw them near, bringing the revelation of Jesus and His saving grace. It is the very best thing that we can do.
1Corinthians 13:4-7 Amplified Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and it is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked (nor overly sensitive and easily angered); it does not take into account a wrong endured. it does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth (when right and truth prevail). Love bears all things (regardless of what comes), believes all things ( looking for the best in each one), hopes all things, (remaining steadfast during difficult times), endures all things (without weakening).
