Everyone of us is in pursuit of something that is either good for us, or not so good. If it is good then it involves God. If it is not good then it is of the devil. Simple truth that does not change, God is good and the devil is bad. God can never be bad and the devil can never be good.
Tonight I saw a perfect example of where pursuing the goodness of God can take a person, and the fact that that person was my oldest daughter made it all the sweeter.
This daughter of mine spends time with God. She is all about relationship with the Lord. In fact, some time ago the Holy Spirit gave her a personal revelation that has changed, not only her thought life, but her life trajectory as well. The Holy Spirit said fix intimacy with Me and you fix everything.
Intimacy in relationship eliminates those things that you didn’t even realize were keeping you distant from the Father. Holy Spirit knew that by fixing intimacy, nothing that was targeted at keeping that relationship from growing could prosper in her life. A simple but profound revelation. She acted on this truth immediately, and is seeing the abundant fruit.
So, where is our pursuit taking us? It will take us to the Father when we pursue Him. When we do this then nothing can get in our way. We will be living out of God’s perfect will for our life, not His permissive will, and we will encounter new things each day which we did not know. Life is full of God’s promises. We only need to pursue the Creator of those promises, and everything will be very clear.
Isaiah 58:11 “And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your soul in scorched and dry places, and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.”
