Are we looking for God everyday?

As believers we are determined to be in tune to God. We quite naturally express our love for Him, we thank Him for lives that are so blessed, and yet we are busy. In our busyness we are often distracted by our stuff that is calling out for attention. However, yesterday a young woman texted me with a simple message. She said, “Keep your eyes peeled for Him today.”

This simple text brought me much joy because not 5 minutes earlier I had asked the Father for exactly what I was being encouraged not to miss. I had asked to be shown what He was doing in the lives of people I would encounter, and that I would clearly discern what the Holy Spirit was saying.

The fact that I received a text in response to my prayer was awesome for me, and the woman who sent it. She heard from the Holy Spirit, who directed her to tell me, which out of obedience she did. When my text back to her was that this had just been my prayer, she got excited.

We are all encouraged when we know that we are hearing correctly from God. What the text said to me was be on the look out!

When you know you are looking for someone you do have a different focus. Perhaps it is even safe to say that the looking in itself creates the focus. We don’t just look to look, we look to find! This is what I asked for, what God promised when He told me to keep my eyes peeled, and it is what I experienced.

My encounters were personal yesterday, they were not by chance, and they were purposed by God to give me a message. His message was not difficult to understand. It was straightforward and an important piece of what He had been speaking recently.

Go where I tell you to go and speak what I tell you to speak.

Psalm 32:8 CSB I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel.

What do we find impossible to ignore?

Is it a matter of courage or timing?
