As the seasons change across the globe we see how this natural passing influences us all. The other side is also true. When we see a season that just seems to refuse to let go we feel its effect.
I am blessed to live near the north Georgia mountains and yesterday I felt the need to drive towards that area. Initially, I thought that I was just craving the cooler temperatures but the longer I drove the clearer the purpose for the drive actually became. The Holy Spirit wanted to speak to me and I was in the perfect place to listen.
As the days in which we live get darker and darker we need the voice of God to speak to us more than ever before. Even as those days appear to darken the lives of many, as Christians we live out of a relationship that is based on truth and certainty. It is this relationship that fosters the security that keeps us grounded.
The Holy Spirit is our firm foundation in whatever season we may be in at the present time. From this perspective, I know that the wider I open the door to Him, the clearer I understand what He is saying to me at any particular time.
Here is something that I am certain we can all agree upon. No matter how much we may want the season to change it is not entirely up to us. With the weather we know that the most accurate, most researched predictions are not guaranteed. The same is true with the seasons of our life. We may be able to help things along but once again there is no guarantee that we can determine exactly when our season will end.
When it is time to move from where we currently find ourselves onto something different we will have the assurance we need to take whatever steps are necessary. We hear the voice of God and although we may at times feel like we are in isolation we are never alone. His nearness is something that we can depend on and His voice will never abandon us.
Romans 12:2 CSB Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
