Does the goodness of God flow from your lips?

There are many in the body of Christ who are battling those things that the world tells them are a reflection of God. They tell them that ‘If God loved you, He would not allow this,’ ‘If God loved you, you would not be sick,’ ‘If God loved you, your family would not be in lack.’ The world says that God is indifferent, that God is distant, and that God does not love you. These are lies that every believer should be ready to rebuke, and in its place speak of the goodness of God. In these days there are those that consider themselves to be Christians, and yet they have been deceived.

We know that God is more than capable of defending Himself, but I believe that we bring honor, joy, and praise to the Father when we speak the truth of His character. Additionally, when we speak boldly of God’s character, then we are declaring boldly our own character. At a time when so many are intimated to speak truth, we must not be counted among their number.

Psalm 27:13-14 I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord.

1 Peter 4:14-16 If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. Let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler. But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name.
