This morning I woke up with almost a command in my spirit. The command was only one word, and that word was stand. Not much later it became even more focused with stand tall. From stand tall it was stand tall and be counted, but that was not the end. It then became stand tall because your very character demands it!
I believe that few would disagree that we are living in emotionally charged days. In fact, each day seems to become so charged that it is difficult to remember when it was not this way. Nevertheless, now it is not the time to sit this one out, or disengage. We are not merely spectators at a game, we are in a fight for our life, and we must stay focused and alert. The life we want to live is under extreme attack by people who want to press us into what they desire, not for our benefit, but for their own ambition.
Are you old enough to remember when you could pray in school? Do you remember standing for the pledge of allegiance every morning before you started your school work? Few children know what they are missing now, as there is no more prayer, and the pledge is not required. A student can sit in their seat and ignore the pledge all together. This everyday life for school children has been there new normal long before it was coined to describe our recent months.
If you are reading this post then I can assume you are a believer, and that should mean that you know there is power in prayer. You and I should also know that with prayer comes respect for life and respect for others. I know that we would all be better off today if there was no separation of church and state. The moral compass of our country would be evident as the body of Christ prayed and engaged freely.
We must not take a seat to important decisions that will shape our lives for years to come, letting others speak for us, and ignoring our responsibility to stand up for what is right. As believers it is so important to stand tall and be counted, letting our character be what others see as heads above the rest because we truly honor our God.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things.
Psalm 33:3 The LORD looks down from heaven; He sees all sons of men.
Psalm 66:7 He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
