How do we measure these days?

We are just days before Christmas, and the end of 2020, yet there remains much to still do. I speak not of shopping, wrapping gifts, decorating for family, but of kingdom work. This work is all important and must not get lost in the middle of our own pursuits, for truth must never be overlooked, or diminished in its importance. Our pursuits must be God’s pursuits, and when we see to His work first, we will be in excellent measure.

Good measure, God measure, speaks to me of right standing, and right standing is never void of God. For the believer there is no neutral territory, there is no fence hopping, and there is no middle of the road. Our right standing is measured by God’s Word, Holy Spirit’s guidance, and the name of Jesus.

Believers can only measure these days by what God’s Word tells us. If we are to be in agreement, in right standing, then we must not neglect to run everything through the Holy Spirit filter, for the Spirit of Truth will never give us any reason to question His intentions.

Furthermore, once we know truth we must not linger anywhere outside of its boundaries. To do so is to put ourselves in peril of believing a lie, and in direct disobedience to God.

Acts 5:29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”
