When things become difficult there are many who can’t take the heat. Instead, of standing firm in what they know is true, they began to fold and compromise. It is not easy to witness those that seemed like they understood the rock solid foundation of Christ, only to see that they are now not able to stand when the onslaught comes. It comes to devour those who are in Christ, there is no doubt about that, but God’s Word has prepared us for these days. Therefore, we should not be surprised, nor should we fold.
Are you up to hearing some truth?
The true believer will not be intimated by the enemy and his plans, for they know that their authority is far greater than who is beneath their feet. This enemy of God is an enemy to every believer. Yet, for every believer who fully understands their God given authority, this foe is no match to the victory that Christ has won.
Those who question their own authority are actually in disbelief of God’s Word. They are content to function on the surface, and in doing so, they deny the deeper things of God. They have neglected to acknowledge the Holy Spirit and His presence in their lives. They continue to speak and to do what looks good in their own eyes, regardless of what God’s Word declares to be true.
Furthermore, their foundation remains weak because they have not invested in God’s truth. They are riddled with fear, they are distracted by anything that causes them discomfort, and ultimately they are afraid of the things of this world. They fear what this world can do to hurt them more than they trust in God’s ability to protect them.
There comes a time in the life of every believer when their faith is tested, and they must choose. They must choose to either trust completely in God, or to continue to trust in themselves.
Deuteronomy 28:7 “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”
