The other day I was looking at a large cross and I knew the Holy Spirit was speaking from my spirit. The words that I heard registered a resounding yes! Holy Spirit said, “Undergirding the sword will always be the cross.”
The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. It is God’s Word that speaks truth into our entire identity, an identity that can’t be separated from God and His Word.
Each time I write, God’s Word, I am immediately aware of Jesus. God’s Word can’t exist without Jesus. I love the Scripture in John1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus is the Word and the redemptive power of the cross put the sword in our hand. Without the cross we would have no authority. We would be weaponless in a world that has given itself over to the schemes of the enemy, but with our authority that has been delivered to us through the cross we are victorious in every situation.
Use the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to speak and break yourself free from the evil one who thinks he has a hold over you, but is mistaken! You will enjoy wielding the sword that is yours through your inheritance.
